Everything you need to know about PDF API pricing, overages, and cancellation.
What counts as one "PDF render"?
+
Each successful API call to POST /v1/render or POST /v1/render/async that produces a document counts as one render. This applies whether the output is a PDF or PNG. Failed renders (4xx/5xx errors) are not counted. Batch jobs count one render per row/document produced.
What happens if I exceed my monthly limit?
+
We don't cut you off at the limit. Your API keeps working and any renders beyond your plan's included amount are billed as overage at the end of the month. Overage rates range from $0.01 to $0.02 per PDF depending on your plan. You can set usage alerts in your dashboard to be notified before you hit your limit.
Can I cancel my plan at any time?
+
Yes. Cancel anytime from your account dashboard with one click. Your plan remains active until the end of the current billing period. There are no cancellation fees, no minimum commitment, and no "gotcha" clauses. After cancellation, your account reverts to the Free plan (100 PDFs/month).
Is there an annual billing discount?
+
Yes — pay annually and save 20% on any paid plan. Annual plans are billed upfront for 12 months. For example, the Pro plan is $49/month when billed monthly, or $470.40/year (equivalent to $39.20/month) when billed annually. Contact us at
hello@typsetter.dev to switch to annual billing.
Do you offer custom enterprise pricing?
+
Yes. If you need more than 200,000 PDFs per month, require dedicated infrastructure, custom SLAs beyond 99.99%, on-premise deployment, or specific compliance requirements (SOC2, GDPR DPA, HIPAA BAA), contact our sales team at
hello@typsetter.dev. We build custom packages for document automation at scale.
Which payment methods are accepted?
+
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) via Stripe. For Business and Enterprise plans, we also support bank transfer (ACH/SEPA) and invoice billing. All transactions are secured by Stripe's PCI-DSS Level 1 infrastructure.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan mid-month?
+
Yes. You can upgrade or downgrade at any time. When you upgrade, you're immediately moved to the new plan and charged a prorated amount for the remainder of the billing period. When you downgrade, the change takes effect at the start of your next billing period, so you keep the higher limits until then.
Is there a free trial for paid plans?
+
The Free plan is your unlimited trial — use it as long as you want with 100 PDFs per month and no credit card required. This lets you fully evaluate the template editor, API, and integrations before paying. For high-volume testing before committing to Scale or Business plans, contact us and we can arrange an extended trial period.
What is the SLA for uptime?
+
All paid plans include a 99.9% monthly uptime SLA. Business and Enterprise plans include 99.99% uptime with dedicated infrastructure. In the event of downtime beyond the SLA threshold, we issue service credits automatically — no need to ask. Our current uptime is tracked publicly at
status.typsetter.dev.
